Need info on cucuzzas.

CajunaterOctober 10, 2013

Hi, I'm Gerry, new to the Forums. Looking for info concerning cucuzza squash, or gourds. I was given 3 cucuzzas, one young and tender, and the other 2 for seed. My question is: They are no longer on the vine. Can I still save for seed? Do I just set them on a shelf in my shed and let them dry out? How long do they need to dry out before I can use the seeds to grow new cucuzzas? Thanks for any help you can give. Gerry

Hopefully the two you were given for seed are fully mature. Just let them dry. (They are a variety of bottle gourd). when they are dry and light, break them open and collect the seeds. They will be hollow and the seeds will be quite loose.
