bora bora squash

I picked up one of these at a local market. Is anyone familiar with these? I googled them, and all I got was this info:

The variety is imported from Brazil into New York, where it is popular among people of Brazilian and Dominican descent.

The bora bora, a dry, flavorful squash with a very bright interior color and long shelf-life, has been very popular with Hispanic and Asian customers.

Does anyone know if this squash is a hybrid or OP?

Have not encountered any squash by that name. The major squash types grown in Brazil are Butternut types ( C. moschata) and Kabocha types (C. maxima) Sakata has several versions of Tetsukabuto ( a maxima - moschata cross) growing in Brazil which is a specialized hybrid. Looks like a kabocha type. A picture or a good description would help identify the type. Unfortunately hybrids don't have unique appearance.

The squash I bought was smaller than most of the others at the store. It is about 6" in diameter and approx. 3.25 pounds if that helps any.

Has the look of a kabocha type, but could be a Tetsukabuto. This is only one sold in the USA, but Sakata Brazill offers several variations.
