hail damage

Rex888(southern minn.)October 3, 2005

We have had a significant hail storm with hail stones about the size of marbles. Almost all of my gourds sustained some damage. They have nicks, dents, cuts, and chips to the exposed sides. I am wondering if these will cause the gourds to rot or will they dry properly? Anybody with hail damage experience? Rex

Sorry about your gourds! I worry all summer about hail, it can take out a garden so fast. I don't know what the damage will to to the end product, and it looks like the others don't either. I remember when you had that huge storm a while back, we aren't too far away so we get that sort of news. I guess you could just try and dry them, see what happens.
