Cleaning the Inside of a Gourd

burtjayNovember 5, 2006

I'm trying to thouroghly clean the inside of a batch of long handled gourds and thought I'd soak them to soften things up a bit and then scrap it clean.

I assuming this is okay to do even after the gourd is dried...but thought I'd run it past the forum to confirm.

Thanks.

I think you'd be better off dry-cleaning them. Shake out whatever will let go, scrape out some more, then run water in it, and dump it out.......several times. That should get all the little stuff and dust out for you. btw, are you making dippers or birdhouses, or what?
