I do not dig up my dahlias but wanted to share with my sisters and sister n laws but wasn't sure the best time to try to separate my tubers. Any help is appreciated.
Hi there! I'm not an expert, but I'll put in my 2 cents... I've always heard that fall is the best time to do this. It will give the tubers a chance to grow a little bit before winter. There is a great book called Month by Month Gardening in the South. I think it's by Hastings. I'll bet it has something on when to do that. I bet you could google it, too! Good luck!
Thanks bagsmom! I will look for the book. I read on the Georgia dahlia site to not dig up til spring so really not sure. My brain told me to listen to them but I haven't got a clue which is better.
Know nothing about dahlias, but just read the article I've linked below. It's from today's Seattle Times. Same zone but different conditions.
Hope it'll help some.
