So far I'm thinking of malabar spinach, chayote and purslane, but would like to do more. Want to eat the stuff and might make a little greenhouse. Anyone done that here?
Now this is a good topic to start. I don't have the answers, I usually desert my garden when it gets hot. LOL..but I would like to know what would work year round. I am in zone 8b or 9, depending on which chart you look at. Where are you?

I generally grow various Asian Greens, Turnips and radishes yr round. I generally have a two season garden, Hot and Cold. Cold covers most European veggies and Hot usually goes Asian, specifically Thai and Vietnamese veggies. Right now we're just beginning the Hot season harvestings with Japanese and Cambodian Eggplants, with Sweet and Hot Peppers just starting to colour up. I was trying an Indian gourd to replace Summer Squashes that get such bad Powdery Mildew here but while the plants are doing well, the 'Tinda' has produced one fruit...enough to slice up in a soup.
There are very few that will grow all year round here. Had some luck with Swiss Chard. Most don't produce all the time. If you try a greenhouse you will need to have one that you can open Completely in the hot summer or cook everything. Asian Turnips do well here, big and sweet with not bit to speak of. Most greens like the winters we have here. You you keep at it and the weather doesn't get too cold you can enjoy something all year round but need to plant as they stop producing.
