Hi, I live in the sw corner of Georgia, close to gulf coast regions. Are there certain daffodils that do better in this area? Yellows?

I have a wonderful friend who lives in SW Georgia too. She grows outstanding tulips, daffodils, amaryllis, muscari, and many other bulbs. I will ask her for a list of what does well there.

Here in Houston, paperwhites are perennial.

They're the white small daffodils that are sold in the winter for "forcing."
Don't plant em inside, just stick them in the ground and they'll be one of the first flowers every spring.

Yellow "jonquils" also do well in the South, as well as some "tazettas."

Grab the ones sold in Novemeber and around Christmas in the box stores--they're the ones for warm places.

If your really interested, go to your library and check out "Garden Bulbs for the South."

Better book is Daffodils in Florida available thru the American Daffodil Website. It is geared towards North Florida and south Georgia--that's where the test gardens were. Its also applicable to all the Gulf Coast South--I grow a lot of bulbs (Narcissus included)--the key is getting the right variety. Another good idea is also join your regional branch of American Daffodil Society--they have excellent group sales of varieties suited to your area and you will meet the nicest people thru ADS and its local chapters.
