Will hellebore flower buds survive the cold?

Eeek! A couple of my hellebores have put out buds. Will they survive muti-days of below freezing temps? It's 18 degrees right now!

Yes, I expect they will be just fine. They may look limp, even lay down flat in the bed if tall enough, and recover no worse for the wear when your weather warms. These are tough, don't worry about them :)

Now if they were just tough enough to withstand the contractor who stood on a couple of mine when replacing a large window this week....

Thanks for this post and answer, I was just getting worried about mine.

Mine is in white and in bloom but the plant is pretty flat to the ground. And today it's covered in snow!
