How do I tell when my seeds are ripe?
We've been having some really strangely warm weather here, and I have a very dark hellebore I really want to save seeds from. Some of the flowers have seed pods on then the size of a Great Northern bean already, while others are just barely visible yet. How do I know when to pick 'em? I want to let them get fully ripe, but I don't want to let them drop before I can gather them.
Any tips? Can I 'bag' the flower with an old stocking or something?
