Basil from seed

cdgtxs(7/8)January 25, 2009

Hello , I started several varieties of basil from seed and let them get a little leggy before getting them under good lighting . My question is: When potting up , can I plant deep (To first leaves) like I do with my tomato seedlings????

THANKS

You can plant a little deeper, but I wouldn't go more than about an inch above the location when they were in pots. Tomatoes and even peppers have natural root stubs that are easily seen. They can be planted several inches deeper.
