Will Hellebore grow back from roots?

Thyme2dig NH Zone 5June 14, 2013

I had a beautiful 'Pink Frost' that has been disturbed by critters. Looks like voles were circling around it. I had tamped all the soil back down. After a couple weeks the entire plant has died back. The stems just pulled right off. Upon inspection below, the roots still look intact. The voles didn't tunnel through the roots as far as I can tell. Will a hellebore regenerate from the roots, or is it a complete goner?

I have had this happen and yes they came back. I would say just wait and see. You should be seeing new growth about now.
