Black spot on leaves

katydid00(6)April 27, 2006

I have a hibiscus tree, that i keep outdoors during summer and indoors when it's too cold to be outside. It was doing ok inside. I didn't get any blooms on it over the winter but it was still green and healthy looking. The days here have been warmer and so i decided to put it outside during the day and bring it in the house for the night. One day the sun must have been too hot b/c a couple of leaves got sun burnt. I have just noticed that the leaves that were sunburnt have black spots on them. Some of the other leaves close to them have black on them too. I think it might be a fungus or something. It doesn't look mouldy. Anyone know what it is? or how to get rid of it? I don't want it to die, I really enjoyed the plant.

It could be a fungus. I had one with a similar problem and I just got rid of ALL the affected leaves and kept a close eye on it. It didn't take too long for the problem (whatever it was) to go away.
