What is this giant blue berry

newtoucanJuly 2, 2014

These come from a very large tree in a rainforest area. Does anyone know what they are? Skin is so blue. Size is that of a very large marble but smaller than a golf ball? Are these edible?

These are the fruits from the commonly called blue marble tree. The blue fruits are edible but not palatable (very bitter). Seeds are used to make seed jewelry.
