I see Hibiscus in garden stores everywhere around here. I thought they a warm natured plant and couldnt withstand frost. does anyone have any insight on this?
TRopical hibiscus are sold all over as summer plants. They will grow well in the ground until the first frost, but then they are goners. Most people plant them in large pots so they can be overwintered in the house or garage. Hope that helps.
You can buy perennial hibiscus which will come back every year. Be sure to check cold hardiness on the tag when you buy it. Look at hibiscus at Plantdelights.com for ideas of what is available.
