Double confederate rose

southernexteriorsMay 21, 2008

I have planted several cuttings from my original Double confederate rose, and every one is growing great. The two year old one flowered the first year but the buds fell off before they could open. Some partially opened then dropped to the ground.

What can I do this year to promote flowering each two year plant is seven feet tall right now and full of leaves.

I have 20 cuttings of the original double confederate rose I ct this early spring and they are now ready to plant in the ground. I'm amazed at the growth rate.

What can I do to help them flower at their best?

Feed them some Epsom salts and super phosphate. 5 tablespoons Epsom salts to 5 gallons of water, monthly. Feed superphos according to directions. You should have plenty of blooms this year on the older plant. The younger may take another year.
