Curry Plants in Florida

aj_bostonApril 11, 2007

Everybody tells me that they buy their curry plants in Florida. I live in the panhandle under Alabama, and I cannot find any curry plants for sale. Where can I buy curry plants in Florida?

Do you mean "curry" the spice? Curry is actually a broad category of spice blends. All curry is different depending on who mixed it. I purchase my favorite curry from and it contains.

Tumeric, Cayanne, coriander, ginger, cumin, fenugreek, white pepper, cinnamon, fennel, nutmeg, cardamon, cloves, black pepper.

Some of these spices can be grown in the US and some cannot.

If you're not talking about curry seasoning, i hope i haven't made too much of a fool of myself. I've never heard of a plant called "curry".

Mr Dove is being clever.

There is a Curry Plant ((Helichrysum angustifolium, H. italicum), and there is a Curry Leaf Tree (Murraya koenigii).

I can't help you with a source, unless you contact a mail order company such as Richters. You should be able to order one in from any nursery, too.
