New to Hawaii gardening
I recently moved to Hawaii and am interested in starting a lanai garden. I have a fairly large space that is directly on the ocean, and I am wondering if anyone can provide some tips/tricks on growing in such a salty environment. Ideally, I would like to grow several herbs such as Basil, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Cilantro and Chives; as well as some Peppers (Bell), Tomatoes (likely cherry), Oranges, and maybe Lemons, and/or Limes. I am hoping to find some sturdy, yet small footprint varieties of the fruits/tomtatoes and am looking for any advice that you may have.
I used to garden in Virginia and had great success with the herbs and am hoping that I can repeat my success here (albeit in a smaller, more salty environment).
