Any pics of sage flowers?

antonia313May 20, 2010

Ive been looking online for awhile, and still have not found a definitive answer to:

-does garden sage(like the golden or silver bordered leaf) grow flowers, or only other varieties of salvia?

-if "regular" sage does, what do the flowers look like?

Does anyone have pictures of sage thats blossomed?

Yes, sage, including the variegated and coloured ones, gets flowers. I agree that if you google sage you get a lot of different Salvias but if you google Salvia officinalis flowers you will get plenty of hits. However, there are still quite a few pictures which are misidentified. The one in the link is the real thing.

The link below has a picture of one of the variegated varieties blooming. Adding the variety name as well as the botanical name to searches can help if looking up info or trying to find images. I used "Icterina" as a variety name.
