Weird bug drilling holes in bud

AlieCat(7b Texas)July 7, 2005

I have noticed that I had a few buds on my hibiscus with holes drilled in them. The other day I was looking at it again and found this little creature inside one of those holes. I then got out my insecticidal soap and sprayed it to death. Anyone know what it is/was?

And what in the world is those brown things next to it?

Looks like some sort of beetle and the brown stuff looks like his body waste.(droppings)

Looks more like the nymph of a borer to me. Perhaps the nymph of a green fig beetle, or a june beetle.
