genes(Zone6 NS Canada)August 15, 2006

Good day;

This past spring we moved to an older house with some established plantings.

There are two hibiscus bushes, one, is about 3 ft tall and

is what we believe to be the Blue Bird variety

The second bush is about 9ft tall and has a bloom unlike the Blue Bird "plate shaped". It is more along the lines of a "carnation" type flower. The bloom is about 4" across and is more of a dark red wine color than the pink which shows in the photo. We live in Halifax, NS, Canada which is zone 6

Any help in identifying or confirming or belief would be much appreciated

Gene

Hi genes,
I am soooo jealous of your beautiful blue blooms!
My blooms don't look that blue. They are beautiful!
The second pic is a double bloom pink. Gorgeous!
I have one double bloom blue which are pale compared to yours. You are doing something right, they are truly healthy!

Thanks. This is our first summer in this house so its been a super surprise for us too. Another pleasant surprise happened the other day. A new color popped out in the pinkish bush
