Is This An Hibiscus?

If so can you tell me what kind? It and other color versions are exotics growing wild all over tropical areas of Colombia. It´s called Pinocho (Pinnoccio) here.

Hey Pitter! Hope your hummers are humming along! :-D

It does look like a hibiscus - particularly the leaves and stems. It could be a H. rosa-sinensis - the common tropical. There is a website that I had bookmarked awhile ago that lists other species and has links to descriptions of them. You might be able to use that too narrow it down in case it isn't that. There are so many grafted seedling varieties being sold currently, but where you live, that might be more an older more common variety.

I have included the link below. The descriptions with the variety name may give you something to use to find a picture to confirm if it matches your flower.

Here is a link that might be useful: Hibiscus species, varieties, and cultivars
