ID this plant (fruit tree?)

This was planted by the prior owner. She had some strange ideas about plant choice and placement, but I'm guessing it's some type of fruit tree. It's about 3 feet high, the trunk is brown with green coloration. Thanks for your help!

I was thinking loquat but the leave edges look smooth in the picture.
