Parsley - perennial?

Bob_in_NW_Ohio(NW Ohio)June 18, 2005

This is the second year of our herb garden. The parsley came up on its own this year from last year's planting. Unfortunately, it isn't doing very well. It has long stems and few leaves. Some of the leaves are very pale. It is also flowering. Does parsley need replanted every year?

Yes. It's a biennial. It will come back from its roots the following spring, but only to flower.
