Stevia Flowering

kalanchoe_tomentosaJuly 25, 2011

I've heard a lot about Stevia dying off right after it finishes flowering. A couple of days ago my Stevia flowered, and it still looks good so far. I wanted to let it flower but keep it alive. Does anyone have any ideas? Would fertilizing it give it enough nutrition to keep it alive?

Simply get out your secateurs and give the plant an all-over haircut to remove the flowers. Flowers will persist for a while, but remove them as they appear. Don't fertilise it, or it will produce even more flowers.
