How to propagate Cilantro

takadi(7)August 23, 2014

It is next to impossible to find Coriander/cilantro roots in the grocery store. They are integral to a lot of thai curry pastes. So I bought potted cilantro plant and plan to grow it inside. However, I'm just looking to multiply the roots...how would I go about doing that?

So there's no way to propagate more roots from just the plant itself? I guess coriander seeds are cheap enough, I'll give it a try

It's not a perennial, but an annual. It grows, goes to seed, and dies. Propagating roots is a fruitless task. In a garden, many folks set it up to where it reseeds itself, so they have it growing back each year.

Seeds are the way to go! It likes cooler weather so fall is a great time for growing cilantro.
