Is anyone growing Mexican oregano?

mikael3(z7 Atlanta GA)September 22, 2008

A lot of herbs are called oregano in Mexico, but I think the most common one is Lippia graveolens syn. berlandieri. I tried it this year and it didn't do much.

Is anyone else growing this? Has anyone tried to overwinter it?

I've been growing it in a raised bed here in south Texas, zone 9b, for years. I have found though that it does better in a raised bed, and it needs to watered then allowed to dry out. Don't keep it wet all the time.

I imagine that in Atlanta, you will need to bring it during the winter months since it zoned 9. Here is a dicussion that we had on the Texas Gardening Forum about Mexican Oregano.
