Can anyone ID this herb growing in my yard? The Spanish folks use it in a tea. Thanking you in advance....Janelle
Rootbeer Leaf - Piper auritum
Though commonly used south of the border I have read that it has compounds that should not be consumed in large quantities. I grow it but I don't eat it. Its a relative of the plant that gives us peppercorns for black pepper.
It grows wild in my yard and I think it's so attractive!
