PIneberries, anyone?

writersblockAugust 14, 2014

Has anyone tried growing pineberries? I must confess I'd never heard of them till a neighbor was asking me about how they'd do down here. I would guess the same as any regular strawberry, but I see they are listed as an ever-bearing variety and I thought that June-bearing were preferred for FL.

Anyone have any experience? The white pine sure does look interesting in the photos.

Here is a link that might be useful: white pine pineberry at burpee

Snipes ate all mine!

Sorry! Couldn't resist. That is the weirdest fruit I have ever seen. Apparently no one else is familiar with it either. Give it a shot. If you're successful you'll be the go to expert on pineberries on the forum!

Thanks, Papa Jim.

Yep, the lack of responses at least makes me feel better for never having heard of it before. :)
