Do tomatoes continue to ripen after they are diced?

It's well known that tomatoes continue to ripen after they are harvested off the plant, but what about after the tomato is diced or sliced? Do the individual cubes or slices continue to ripen? I'm just curious about what happens with something like fresh salsa over the span of several days.

No, not ripen, just grows bacteria and cell walls break down.

Agree. It isn't ripening it is just deterioration from the effects of bacteria and cell wall collapse. In salsa the interaction of the various pH acids from the other ingredients speeds up the process of deterioration.
