Hosta T 2013

ilovetogrow z9 Jax FloridaFebruary 7, 2014

A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has exactly 12 boughs and each bough has exactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?

This is the day for Ts:

I had to wait years, but Thunderbolt finally looked good last year. I moved it to a bigger and better spot in fall, hope everything goes well.

Tom Schmid is a youngster. Someday it will look like a bluer Regal Spendor. Plenty of Touch of Class and Twilight already, will skip posting those.

Don't underestimate farmers - they diversify, so he probably has a plum tree too. And since this is a "T" thread, he probably has tomatoes. lol

Little 'Thumbelina' growing in a pot. Very cute...and grows like a weed for me! She also makes a nice ground cover or short edger.

BChosta, I noticed similarities in 'Tropical Dancer' above and 'Restless Sea' from the R string.

Looking closer, in you pics here, it is labeled 'Restless Sea' so I looked them up. 'Tropical Dancer' has cream margins.

Not trying to be a wise-guy here, just thought you'd want to know for labeling your pic files :-)

You always show us really wonderful pics of your gardens and mature hosta. Keep 'em coming!

Touch of Class. Probably my favorite hosta. TOC has been moved to a new spot from this very shady location. I'm wondering if a little more sun will detract from this great coloration.

Paul and HostaDoc,

What type of sun/shade do you have your Tattoo's in? Want to place my new one this year in optimum conditions, since I know this one can be a difficult one.

Thanks!

funnthsun - I moved my Tattoo to morning sun this year. Gets good amount of sun thru early afternoon 1-2ish. Keep in mind I'm in zone 4 in Minnesota (45th parallel), so NC will likely have to be less sun to prevent burn.

Colors really came out with the change to the brighter location.

Dgregory, I missed the point of your post. Are you saying those plants are mislabeled? I went back and looked at Restless Sea in the R's. I also checked the HL. It's solid color (kind of blue) and ruffled on the edge. Tropical Dancer has a cream edge on the HL. That's the way they look in the photos. I'm still scratching my head.

Nicest Tatoo I've seen, Paul.

bkay,
Yup, I goofed! No wonder my post was confusing, it was incorrect. My apology to all and thank you bkay for clearing that up :-)

My eye was drawn to the non-margin ruffled one (Restless Sea) in the pics of Tropical Dancer. I thought that was what BChosta's photos highlighted.

So much eye candy in every one's pics, I lost focus.

I'll sit here quietly now, enjoy the pics and try to pay better attention...
