harvesting Malabar Spinach

greentfinger(9/10)August 2, 2011

I tried some Malabar seeds and growth was fantastic. My problem is should I just cut off the leaves? This is very time consuming by the way as I eat a great deal of greens or can I cut the top beneath the leaves and see if it will grow back. My first tastes of it reminded me of the Swiss Chard I grew up north so I don't wish to hurt the plants, just find a less labor intensive way to harvest them.

I have only just cut the leaves. If you cut back the whole plant it may not go to seed for next years's plants. But maybe I am wrong. :o)
