Anyone ever roasted fresh crowder peas?
I was blanching a batch of Hercules peas for freezing last night.
On a whim I decided to coat some with melted butter and a little salt, then roast them in my toaster oven. (maybe I should say toast?)
They are delicious, a kind of nutty flavor. A great snack!
I just spread them in a single later on parchment paper at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and stirred them about halfway through.
I did not blanch the peas that I roasted.
