Hoya Carnosa

klnco4March 6, 2010

I have a Hoya Carnosa (or polynera.. i cant tell) I ordered on line about a year and a half ago. It was a cutting when i got it and has now grown to a beautiful plant with vines about 2 1/2 feet in length. Today i noticed a single peduncle on a vine! YAY! IM DOING SOMETHING RIGHT! lol.

(Ive been using Miracle Grow Bloom Booster for those who would like to know.)

Anywho, the peduncle is about a 1/4 inch long and I was wondering how long it takes for it to get flowers? Like from bud to full bloom?

H. Carnosa and Polynera are very different plants. Polynura has leaves that look like fish tails.

I have hoyas that grow peduncles regularly but have yet to bud let alone flower. I think it can take a long time to see flowers and then other times you might get them right away. Depends on a lot of things.

Carnosa and pubicalyx are both very nice plants and easy to grow. Pubicalyx leaves usually have more sliver speckles or splashes than carnosa leaves. There are websites:

Both sites are full of useful info and great pictures! Hope these help you as they do me!
