EA has done it again!

Hi Everyone,

I know we have had the kentiana/wayetti conversation before and certainly in regards to EA and it's mislabeling. Now, I've bought another EA mislabeled as Carnosa, and it's not the same as my other kentiana/wayetti, it looks more like an angustifolia. I know that we won't solve the mystery until they bloom but the first has shorter, wider, darker leaves. The new one has longer, narrower, cupped leaves that are are lighter in the center with very dark margins. I have had the 1st for over a year, in good light and the margins never darkened. Looks to me like EA has added another Hoya to it's mixed up world since their website only lists the kentiana. I'll try to post some pics soon.

Have a happy day,

Cassidy

Hmm, gonna have to keep an eye out next time when I go to Lowe's and Home Depot. Has anyone seen any compactas/Hindu ropes at Lowe's or Home Depot lately? I haven't seen any around here since last June when Lowe's had a whole mess of hoyas (that's when I bought lacunosa). Then again, I don't go to those places that often as they're about a half hour to 45 minutes away from me (west, north and east).

My Home Depot has no hanging EA's right now at all. I keep waiting for a new shipment but I guess they're so bogged down with the landscape plants that they don't have room/time or something.

I've been seeing a fair amount of EA Hoya's here in the big box store's. Nummeroides has been the most recent. I see Krimson Queens, Ropes, Kentiana's, and Carnosa alot. Don't see any of the Lacanosa's anywhere.

I see a lot of KP, KQ, DS-70, and Lacunosa (Speckled and Royal Flush). Also, there is often Kentiana, Curtisii, Compacta, Brevialata/Incurvula, and Polyneura but not recently. I haven't seen the Nummeroides or Australis at all. I'm lucky, I have 6 Lowe's and Home Depots within about a 20 minute drive and each seems to have certain plants (ie. one Lowe's always has like 3 or 4 Royal Flush but I haven't seen them at the others...). Many folks have mentioned that they find EA at Walmart but not the ones here in Philadelphia.
I usually pop in to a big box store, look around and walk out. Now that I hear there are Nummeroides and Australis I'm going to be busy looking and then rearranging.
I know we talked in the late summer/fall about the new black EA pots, I have only one; stores here are still getting the reddish orange. Anyone seeing mostly black???

We get both. I actually prefer the smaller orange pots because they're cheaper. My lacunosa Royal Flush is in a black pot though. I haven't seen more than the KQ, KP, DS-70, and my flush. I hope I can find more varieties this year.
