growing bamboo from another bamboo?

If I find a bamboo tree that I like in my area and chop one down, how would I grow a new bamboo tree from that?

You need to dig up a small piece with roots on it. We did that once and it grew like crazy.

It really depends on what type of bamboo it is. Some replicate quite easily and others are very very tough.
