I saw my first HM yesterday! Wow! I never even knew these existed until very recently. If I hadn't know better, I would have sworn it was a HB!

That's a great picture of a Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth! They are one of the few hummingbird moths that feed in the daytime. Since they look so much like a bumblebee they are not bothered by predators. Their larva host plant is honeysuckle.

There are other kinds of hummingbird moths that feed mostly at dusk. They add such a magical touch to the garden a they quietly go from flower to flower in the dim light.
