BirdWeb.org (Washington state birds) says:
Rufous hummingbirds arrive in Washington from late February to early March.
Guess I'd better get my feeder out!
I'm following up to my own post: I put the feeder out two days ago and guess who showed up today; March 1st?? A male rufous hummingbird! Yay!
I've left a feeder out all winter for the anna(s) that we saw a few times, but no rufous yet.
Battle Ground, WA
Susan, you're in Battle Ground, cool. And you've had Anna's? I've never seen anything but Rufous. Do Anna's even come here?
Katy, Anna's are here year-round. A friend of mine near here has several that she watches at her feeder all winter.
