Every year I get a few hummers in late March and they stay around for a couple of weeks or so and then we don't see any at all until July. I am in Southeastern AL, don't they stay in this area all summer?
The hummers in your area start nesting earlier since they arrive earlier. If you have the things they need to survive such as food (feeders and nectar plants), Shelter, water and a place to raise their young, they will stick around.
I have been feeding about 3 to 4 beautiful Hummingbirds throught the winter months September till recently March 20th they all disappeared. I am concerned and hope that the nectar in my feeder didn't make them all sick...any advise for me? I do miss seeing them in my garden! Concerned in California :(
