Go Big or Go Home
I tried to find the previous post on large hosta and gave up. Here is my 'Land of the Giants' I see it now but, here are my big guys anyway.
Elegans 'Out the Back Window' The tee is 4 feet long
Another 4 footer, Sum and Substance.
2 Elegans from the 'Mother' plant and the S&S
Blue Angel at the Ravine. Transplanted out of the previous bed as the others got big. Second year here...seems to like it.
Small Abiqua Gourd just taken out of the same area because of crowding. I prefer giving them room, rather than a 'wave' setting where they overlap.
A tiny S&S; only 3 feet.
Sagae, second year; 3 feet cheating by breaking up the one clump purchased.
Dream Quean...only a little over 2 feet, but, showing potential.
The Elegans 'Mother Ship'. I have taken 6 large divisions off it and it doesn't skip a beat. Just cut back the Pachysandra away from it because I felt it was slowing it down a little.
PS- Never plant a hosta next to a maple like this one, as it is impossible to have it survive. This one is 12-15 years old.
Striptease next to road. It is over 3 feet now and is the best looking hosta I have.
I'm sorry but minis have no place in my yard.
