Please ID an old-fashioned, tri-color hosta

tomahawkclaimMay 26, 2009

I've got an old-fashioned hosta (everybody has it!). The center is white, the mid-leaf is chartreuse, the edge green. The white centers vary from 10% of the width to 85% -- which makes them really interesting and fun. I'm quite sure this is one of the oldest hostas (my friends and I have shared it for decades) -- so I can't find it on any of the common hosta plant sellers photo lists. I'll post a picture as soon as my camera recharges -- but I wouldn't be surprised if you id'd it before then. Thanks -- Nance

Sounds like good old fashioned 'Undulata Univitta' to me...

Hooijer's Undulata Explanations

This link no longer works (at least, not for me today), but it was a great page:
Tigger's Undulata I.D.
Does anyone know Tigger? His real name is David... I'd like to ask him if he re-posted this anywhere as it's too good a resource to lose. I couldn't find it by googling.
