Is this a Hydrangea plant?

jessicalilyApril 18, 2009

I think this might be a very young hydrangea plant in my new yard. There are woody stalk cut down to nothing form last season at its base. It is growing at a rapid pace as well. Can anyone identify it?

The stems do not seem woodsy enough for a hydrangea. The leaves are somewhat similar but not serrated in he form I am used to seeing.

But you could always wait until May-June to see if you get any hydrangea blooms by then.
