do i need to cover my peonies???? freeze warning

monarae_gw(z4 IOWA)May 2, 2005

Just wondering if I need to cover my peonies?!?!

I have most of my other "stuff" covered, but to cover the peonies would be a major undertaking. Any advise asap would be appreciated!

Thanks so much!

(who was gonna let that dang rose bush freeze if it didnt stop poking me as I tried to cover it up!)

Yes, I would. Late Spring freezes could result in no blooms. I threw a sheet over mine.

For what it's worth, I covered all 15 of mine tonight. Some have buds as large as a quarter now.
