Has anyone here grown sprouts? Specifically animal fodder? I have been researching it and want to know if it is worth it...

I have grown sprouts but not as animal fodder.(well I am an animal, but I doubt that is what you meant) I'm not sure I understand the question.
Sprout are just . . .well sprouted seeds. Mung beans in my case. Are you asking what plant to grow to produce seeds to be used as sprouts for animal fodder?

I know that barley is utilized mostly for the animals. My issue is I only have one 17 year old sheep and a few chickens and do not want to buy a huge commercial machine. I was wondering if anybody had any sucess doing a DYI system and if they had any issues like mold? I was wondering if the cost is worth it compared to hay (only had to buy one bale this year)or if the health benifits outway the cost?
