What kind of bug is this?

When I grabbed for it with a tissue, it flew away then landed back where it was.

One of the many stink bugs.

With that white band on the antenna, might be the marmorated stink bug. If so, kill it and all others of the same kind.

Stink bugs are common in New Jersey? I didn't know that.

You think it came from the garden center/nursery next door?

my hubs always calls them a democrat. i know if your in the water in a creek it can leave a knot in your leg, from a bite or something. but that's all i know.
