The larvae of click beetles live in the soil and are called wire worms. They feed on many different plant roots and seeds.

The larva of some Click Beetles digest decaying plant material while the larva of others may feed on grass roots or even more desirous plant roots. Some may be considered pests while others may not.
The adults can be kind of interesting to watch.
