Starting seeds in Grodan Miniblocks

danh_2008April 17, 2008

I am using Grodan Miniblocks to start bibb lettuce. The miniblocks will soak in water with its Ph adjusted with dilute nutes. I will sow a couple seeds into each of them. I will keep the best one and toss away the rest.

The problem is that can I remove the roots safely from the blocks and transplant them to an NFT system when their roots are long enough? If yes, how?

I'm not familiar with Grodan Miniblocks, but couldn't you just leave them in the blocks and set the whole block into the NFT system?
