Grape Kool-Aid Iris

I have some old german iris in my yard that smell like grape kool-ade. could anybody tell me what the name is and where I can get some for my friends?

That would most likely be I. pallida and while everyone seems to grow it, I can't think of any commercial gardens (off the top of my head) that sell it.

Does it look like this?

That would be my guess, because I don't know of any others known to have the grape kool-aid scent.

that is the plant. I wish I had a vase full of them right now. I'm pretty sick of winter here in wisconsin.

Hi Mark,

I'm glad to hear that looks like what you're talking about, and I have one lead after a quick search. It actually came from this forum:

"Superstition Iris Gardens has Princess Beatrice for $4.00. Description is --Barr 1898 Diploid from England, beautiful satiny light lavender, falls somewhat pucker towards the end, clear orange beard, fragrant, "best of the pallidas". It has the intense grape fragrance."
