Fodder - grass for horses

MustangMamaJuly 2, 2013

Wondering if anyone has grown basic grass seed in their fodder and feed to their horses. I was just made aware that the sugar levels might be to high on seedlings and that I should be careful feeding to my horse. Anyone??

The real risk of the fodder machines is getting mold and bad bacteria growing in the system. You can kill a horse fairly easily, believe it or not. Sterilization and cleanliness are key. Sometimes the contamination can come from the seed your are sprouting even if you have a clean system.
