Arent these Louisiana Iris? anyway, they're blooming.

I always assumed they were LI years ago when I dug them up from my mother in laws yard. I divide them after they bloom most every year. I started out with just a couple and I now have hundreds and hundreds in pots and scattered around my yard in the ground.

I'm no expert, but they look just like what I call my Louisiana irises, and mine are blooming now. Are the rhizomes striped like a bumble bee?

Yes, the rhizomes are heavy ribbed and striped.

I was told that striped rhizomes were definitive for Louisianas. Hope somebody who really knows will step in here.

From researching the net, I've come to think this Iris is some blue version of 'Iris hexagona' a Louisiana Iris. I dug them up in east-central Mississippi at my deceased mother in laws house, so I couldn't ask where she got them. Anyway, that's what I'm thinking now.
