Fruit turns yellow and falls off

wkmaylishAugust 9, 2008

I have a few watermelon plants and a couple of cantaloupe plants. They have grown well and produced a lot of small fruit. The problem though is after a week after the fruit appears, it starts to turn yellow and falls off. Why is this??

The plants can't support the fruit adequately and therefor drops them prematurely.
Melons are heavy feeders of Nitrogen and Potassium.
A good recipe is:
N: 215 ppm
P: 85 ppm
K: 340 ppm
Ca: 175 ppm
Mg: 85 ppm
